How We’re Funded
Making Play Possible has been in existence since 2004, but reached its capacity as a program under CMHLG. Without the needed resources to expand the program to meet the needs of the community (referrals have always exceeded the financial and administrative capacity of the program), CMHLG needed to find partners who could help to grow and sustain the program.
We used to work in conjunction with Jumpstart – the Canadian Tire sports funding program, however, we have separated as of 2018, and while Jumpstart will continue to fund sports, such as hockey and soccer, Making Play Possible will continue to fund all types of children and youth recreation, arts, and athletic programs.
Part of our operation expenses are offset by our incredible Making Play Possible Volunteer Committee. This dedicated group of community-minded committee members are passionate about increasing access to recreation for children and youth in Leeds-Grenville. This committee overseas, and is working to grow the capacity of, Making Play Possible to better meet the needs of the community.
By donating to Making Play Possible you are helping children in Leeds and Grenville participate in recreational activities that help them be physically and mentally strong.
