How We’re Funded
Making Play Possible has been in existence since 2004, but reached its capacity as a program under CMHLG. Without the needed resources to expand the program to meet the needs of the community (referrals have always exceeded the financial and administrative capacity of the program), CMHLG needed to find partners who could help to grow and sustain the program.
We continue to work in partnership with Jumpstart – the Canadian Tire sports funding program. Jumpstart funds primarily sports-related programming, such as hockey and soccer. Making Play Possible funds all types of children and youth recreation, arts, and athletic programs.
Part of our operational expenses are offset by our incredible Making Play Possible Volunteer Committee. This dedicated group of community-minded committee members are passionate about increasing access to recreation for children and youth in Leeds-Grenville. This committee oversees Making Play Possible, as well as works to grow our organization’s capacity to better meet the needs of the community. Learn more about our Committee on our Governance page.
